About us

An Organization for the People

We pride ourselves on providing superior services that meet the needs of the community we represent.  Eastside works hard to meet and exceed the housing needs and expectations of our clients.

Established in 1994, operating under the Eastern Baltimore Area Chamber of Commerce, the agency began a Settlement Expense Loan Program in partnership with Baltimore County.  In 2003 housing counseling services became independent under Eastside Community Development Corporation (ECDC), Inc.  ECDC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation that has changed the lives of families and revitalized the community through homeownership education and training, community development, and support of the idea that residents have power.  Eastside has accomplished this by providing, specifically the following services to families:

Eastside Community Development Corporation was selected in 2008 as a primary provider of Foreclosure Prevention counseling for Baltimore County.  In this role the agency has individually counseled more than 700 families.  Prior to 2008 ECDC had counseled over 4,500 first time homebuyers, many of whom went on to become homeowners.  The agency also processed approximately 1,225 closing cost assistance loans that enabled homebuyers to purchase their first home.  While currently providing Foreclosure Prevention, exclusively, the agency has assisted approximately 300 families to acquire mortgage loan modifications that enabled families to maintain homeownership.

Eastside the most successful and longest running housing counseling agency in Baltimore County intends to continue meeting the housing needs of the community it serves.  The agency will continually strive to provide programming that also meets the vision of the agency and its partners.
